One UI 9 (Android 17) widens to Galaxy S24 series and Galaxy A57 in Europe and India

Samsung's Android 17-based One UI 9.0 moved past the S26, S25 and Z Fold 7 generations in the second week of October 2026, reaching the Galaxy S24, S24+, S24 Ultra and S24 FE in Europe and India on 12 October with builds S92xBXXU6EZIF, and the Galaxy A57 outside South Korea on the same day as A576BXXU6BZIE. Carrier-locked Galaxy S24 Ultra units in the United States began receiving S928USQU6EZIF, a 3,909.81MB download, while US rollouts for the Galaxy S25 family and the Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 had already reached factory-unlocked units in early October. The A57 wave was immediately dogged by boot failures linked to an XML file error.

The details

  • Samsung began the wider rollout of stable One UI 9.0, based on Android 17, to the Galaxy S24 series in Europe and India on 12 October 2026, with firmware S921BXXU6EZIF for the Galaxy S24, S926BXXU6EZIF for the S24+, S928BXXU6EZIF for the S24 Ultra and S721BXXUEEZIF for the S24 FE.
  • That European and Indian wave went first to handsets enrolled in the One UI 9.0 Beta Program, a download of roughly 488MB for beta devices, after the stable S24 build had debuted in South Korea on 6 October 2026 with builds ending EZIF.
  • Carrier-locked Galaxy S24 Ultra units in the United States started receiving One UI 9.0 as build S928USQU6EZIF on 12 October 2026, a 3,909.81MB package, with factory-unlocked S24, S24+ and S24 Ultra units still waiting at that point.
  • The Galaxy A57, sold as the Galaxy Quantum 7 in South Korea, received its stable One UI 9.0 build A576BXXU6BZIE outside Korea from 12 October 2026 as a 2,315.25MB download, with Europe among the first regions; the Korean release on 6 October 2026 used build A576SKSU2BZIE.
  • Within a day of the A57's release outside Korea, several owners reported that their phones would not boot normally after installing One UI 9.0, an issue linked to an XML file error, with a one-time boot into Safe Mode followed by a restart offered as the workaround.
  • The Galaxy S25, S25+ and S25 Ultra reached factory-unlocked units and additional US carriers on 5 October 2026 with firmware in the S93*USQUCDZIF series, after select carrier-locked units on 3 October and a South Korean debut on 28 September 2026; India, the UK and the rest of Europe followed on 6 October 2026.
  • The Galaxy Z Fold 7, Z Flip 7, Z Flip 7 FE and Z TriFold got One UI 9.0 in South Korea on 28 September 2026 with builds ending CZIH, reached select US carrier-locked units on 2 October and US unlocked units on 5 October 2026 as F966USQUCCZIH and F766USQUCCZIH, then Europe and India on 6 October 2026.
  • The older Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 followed the same pattern a week behind, landing in South Korea on 6 October 2026, on US factory-unlocked units on 12 October and in India, Europe and other markets on 13 October 2026, all with builds ending EZIH.
  • Samsung opened the stable One UI 9 rollout on 16 September 2026 with the Galaxy S26, S26+ and S26 Ultra only, after about four months of beta testing that started on 12 May 2026 in the United States, United Kingdom, Poland, Germany, South Korea and India, and said the release would "gradually roll out to other Galaxy devices".
  • For Galaxy S24 owners the update adds My FanCam, which generates a video that follows one selected person and works on existing recordings, resizable brightness, volume and media controls in the Quick Panel, a Samsung Finder search bar on the home screen, up to three custom Now Brief cards, a tape tool in Samsung Notes and a 24-hour or seven-day log of AI assistant activity.
