POCO F9 Ultra brings a 185Hz screen and 8,050mAh battery

On sale worldwide from 1 September at USD 799, three weeks after the same hardware reached China as the Redmi K100 Pro Max at CNY 4,499.

The details

  • Redmi K100 Pro and K100 Pro Max were announced in China on 11 August 2026; the same two devices launched globally on 1 September 2026 as the POCO F9 Pro and POCO F9 Ultra.
  • POCO F9 Ultra / Redmi K100 Pro Max uses the full-core Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5; POCO F9 Pro / Redmi K100 Pro uses the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 V Series with one fewer GPU slice.
  • Both carry a separate VisionBoost D8 graphics chipset built on a 12nm process, used for frame interpolation up to 185fps.
  • POCO F9 Ultra: 6.9-inch HyperRGB AMOLED, 2608×1200, 185Hz, 4,500 nits peak. POCO F9 Pro: 6.59-inch HyperRGB AMOLED, 2510×1156, 185Hz, 4,500 nits peak.
  • Both use Gorilla Glass 7i and ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensors.
  • POCO F9 Ultra battery 8,050mAh silicon-carbon; POCO F9 Pro 6,330mAh. Both support 100W wired, 50W wireless, 27W reverse wired and 22.5W reverse wireless charging.
  • China-market batteries differ slightly: Redmi K100 Pro Max 9,070mAh (16 per cent silicon) and K100 Pro 8,580mAh (26 per cent silicon).
  • Both have a 200MP main camera with OIS and a 32MP selfie camera. The Ultra adds a 50MP 5x periscope telephoto and 50MP ultrawide; the Pro has a 50MP telephoto and 8MP ultrawide.
  • POCO F9 Ultra offers up to 16GB RAM and 1TB UFS 4.1 storage; F9 Pro up to 12GB RAM and 512GB.
  • POCO F9 Ultra carries Bose-tuned symmetrical stereo speakers with an independent subwoofer and a 3D IceLoop cooling system with a 6,300mm2 vapour chamber area.
  • Global early-bird prices were USD 649 and USD 699 on the F9 Pro, and USD 729, USD 799 and USD 1,059 across the F9 Ultra tiers.

Why it matters
