iPad mini with an OLED screen reported for late October
Bloomberg reporting points to a faster chip, new speakers and better water resistance at a higher price; Apple has confirmed nothing.

- Bloomberg's Mark Gurman reported on 24 August 2026 that Apple plans to release a new iPad mini by the end of October 2026.
- The reported change is from the current LCD panel to OLED, for higher contrast and true blacks; the refresh rate is reported to stay at 60Hz, without ProMotion.
- The OLED panel is reported to be an LTPS single-stack unit of around 8.4 inches, supplied by Samsung Display.
- Silicon is reported as A19 Pro, with A20 also floated, replacing the A17 Pro in the current model.
- Also reported: a new speaker system and increased water resistance.
- A higher starting price than the current model is expected because of the OLED panel.
- The current iPad mini (A17 Pro, 7th generation) launched in October 2024.
- Apple did not announce any iPad at its 9 September 2026 event; separate reporting says the entry-level iPad refresh has slipped to Q1 2027 at the earliest, and Gurman later grouped the iPad mini with products expected in late 2026 or early 2027.
