OnePlus 16 sells over 70,000 units in its first hour on sale in China
OnePlus China president Li Jie says the newly unveiled OnePlus 16 moved more than 70,000 units in the first hour after it went on sale in China on 13 October 2026, a figure he claims leads this year's Android flagships over a comparable launch window. The phone starts at CNY 5,999 and tops out at CNY 8,499, with a Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6, a 200MP main camera and a 9,000mAh battery. There is no global version, though a tipster says OnePlus plans to bring the 16R, and possibly the 16 itself, to India around the turn of the year.

- OnePlus China president Li Jie said on Weibo that the OnePlus 16 sold more than 70,000 units within the first hour after it went on sale in China at 10:00 local time on 13 October 2026, the day after its unveiling.
- Li Jie claimed the result ranks first among this year's Android flagships measured over a comparable launch period, but OnePlus has never published equivalent first-hour figures for the OnePlus 15, so the claim cannot be checked against its own predecessor.
- The OnePlus 16 was unveiled in China on 12 October 2026 and is priced from CNY 5,999 (about $896) for the 12GB/256GB model up to CNY 8,499 (about $1,270) for 16GB/1TB, with 12GB/512GB and 16GB/512GB configurations also listed.
- GSMArena's device listing gives an announcement date of 12 October 2026 and an expected China release of 31 October 2026, when open sales begin.
