Google launches screenless Fitbit Air in India at Rs 13,999, on sale from 2 October

Google announced its screenless Fitbit Air for India on 30 September at Rs 13,999, with sales from 2 October, pairing a 5.2 g sensor pebble rated for up to seven days of battery with a three-month Google Health Premium trial.

The details

  • Google announced the Fitbit Air for India on 30 September 2026 at Rs 13,999, with sales starting on 2 October 2026 through the Google Store and retail partners.
  • FoneArena and TechCrunch report that the tracker is sold through the Google Store, Flipkart, Croma, Reliance Digital and Vijay Sales.
  • Google calls the screenless Fitbit Air its smallest tracker yet: the pebble measures 34.9 x 17 x 8.3 mm and weighs 5.2 g without a band and 12 g with one.
  • Google lists 24/7 heart rate, heart rhythm monitoring with Afib alerts, SpO2, resting heart rate, heart rate variability, and sleep stages and duration among the tracker's health features.
  • The sensor set comprises an optical heart rate monitor, a 3-axis accelerometer and gyroscope, red and infrared sensors for SpO2, a device temperature sensor and a vibration motor, and the tracker is water resistant up to 50 metres.
  • Google quotes battery life of up to 7 days, one day of use from a 5-minute charge and a 90-minute charge from 0 to 100%; the tracker uses Bluetooth 5.0 and ships with a USB-C charging cable.
  • The pebble pops out to swap between three band styles: the Performance Loop Band, made from recycled materials (at least 35% by weight, per Google) and the one included in the box, the sweatproof, wetproof silicone Active Band, and the Elevated Modern Band; accessory bands are sold separately.
  • In India the Fitbit Air comes in Obsidian, Berry, Lavender and Fog, and it works with phones running Android 11 or higher or iOS 16.4 or higher through the Google Health app, which requires a Google Account.
  • Each unit includes three months of Google Health Premium, which adds the Google Health Coach built with Gemini; the Google Store India lists the offer as ending on 26 May 2027, and Google says Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers get Premium at no extra cost.
  • FoneArena lists launch offers of Rs 1,000 instant cashback on full-payment card transactions, or Rs 1,000 cashback with 6-month no-cost EMI on eligible HDFC Bank and ICICI Bank cards, plus consumer-loan no-cost EMI of up to 12 months.
  • TechCrunch notes the Indian price works out to roughly $146, against $99 for the tracker in the U.S.; the Fitbit Air was first unveiled in May.

Pricing

  • Rs 13,999

Why it matters

TechCrunch describes the screenless Fitbit Air as Google's bid to tap the growing popularity of distraction-free health gadgets such as Whoop's bands and Oura's rings, and its Gemini-built Google Health Coach requires a paid Google Health Premium subscription once the three-month trial ends. At Rs 13,999 it costs well above its $99 U.S. price in a market where, per Counterpoint Research figures cited by TechCrunch, India accounts for only 5% of the screenless wearable market and Indian startups such as Noise and Urban have been trying to undercut Western rivals on price.
