  • Samsung India said on 1 October 2026 that the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra and Galaxy Tab S12+ go on sale from 7 October in Gray and Silver through Samsung Exclusive Stores, partner stores, Samsung.com and other online platforms, and Samsung India's online store listed the Wi-Fi and 5G versions of both models as in stock on 7 October.
  • The Galaxy Tab S12+ costs Rs 1,29,999 for Wi-Fi 12GB/256GB, Rs 1,49,999 for Wi-Fi 12GB/512GB, Rs 1,44,999 for 5G 12GB/256GB and Rs 1,64,999 for 5G 12GB/512GB in India.

  • Samsung lists a 14.6-inch 2960 x 1848 Dynamic AMOLED 2X display on the Ultra and a 12.6-inch 2800 x 1752 panel on the Plus, both at 120Hz with 1,600 nits peak and 1,000 nits in High Brightness Mode.
  • Both tablets use the MediaTek Dimensity 9500, which MediaTek says is built on TSMC's 3nm process with a 12-core GPU and its NPU 990, and Samsung claims up to 61% faster NPU, 19% faster CPU and 17% better GPU performance for the Tab S12 Ultra compared with the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra.
  • Samsung gives typical battery capacities of 11,600mAh for the Ultra and 10,600mAh for the Plus, rated at up to 23 and 21 hours of video playback, with 45W wired charging from 0 to 100% in about 95 minutes; the global release says the 45W adapter is sold separately.
  • The Ultra measures 5.1mm thick and weighs 692g (Wi-Fi), which Samsung calls its thinnest Galaxy Tab, while the Plus is 5.3mm and 553g (Wi-Fi); both have microSD expansion up to 2TB and an S Pen in the box, with tablet and S Pen rated IP68.
  • Both run Android 17 with One UI 9 and Galaxy AI, and Samsung promises up to seven OS upgrades and security updates.
  • The Ultra has a 13MP main and 8MP ultrawide rear camera and Wi-Fi 7, while the Plus has a single 13MP rear camera and Wi-Fi 6E; both have a 12MP ultrawide front camera, quad speakers with 4-channel spatial audio and Bluetooth 6.0.

Why it matters

Up to seven OS upgrades, IP68 sealing and an in-box S Pen make the Tab S12 series a long-horizon purchase, and Samsung is leaning into that in India by offering its Galaxy Forever buyback programme on Galaxy Tabs for the first time. With prices running from Rs 1,29,999 to Rs 1,84,999, and the Pro Keyboard Cover a further Rs 26,499 or Rs 27,999, the bank, upgrade and phone-bundle offers will weigh heavily on what buyers actually pay.
