Samsung raises Galaxy S26 prices in India by about Rs 15,000; S26 Ultra now Rs 1,54,999

Samsung has raised Galaxy S26 series prices about seven months after launch: the 256GB and 512GB versions of each model cost about Rs 15,000 more in India, where the 256GB S26 Ultra now sells for Rs 1,54,999, and prices are at least $100 higher in the US, with Europe also affected.
The details
- Samsung has raised the prices of the Galaxy S26, S26+ and S26 Ultra about seven months after their launch, with GSMArena finding higher prices on Samsung's online stores in the US, Canada, the UK, mainland Europe and India on 1 October 2026.
- Samsung India's online store sells the Galaxy S26 for Rs 1,02,999 (12GB/256GB) and Rs 1,22,999 (12GB/512GB), up from about Rs 88,000 and Rs 1,08,000 before the increase, according to GSMArena.
- Samsung India's online store sells the Galaxy S26+ for Rs 1,34,999 (12GB/256GB) and Rs 1,54,999 (12GB/512GB), up from about Rs 1,20,000 and Rs 1,40,000 before the increase, according to GSMArena.
- Samsung India's online store sells the Galaxy S26 Ultra for Rs 1,54,999 (12GB/256GB) and Rs 1,74,999 (12GB/512GB), up from about Rs 1,40,000 and Rs 1,60,000, while GSMArena reports the 1TB model rising from about Rs 1,90,000 to about Rs 2,15,000.
- SamMobile reports that Samsung raised the prices of the Galaxy S26 series and most other Galaxy phones in India a few days before 1 October 2026.
- Samsung's US store lists the Galaxy S26 at $999.99 and $1,199.99, the S26+ at $1,199.99 and $1,399.99, and the S26 Ultra at $1,399.99, $1,599.99 and $1,999.99, which GSMArena says is $100 more per model and $200 more for the 1TB S26 Ultra.
- In mainland Europe, GSMArena reports the 256GB Galaxy S26 rising from €1,000 to €1,100, the 256GB S26+ from €1,250 to €1,350 and the 256GB S26 Ultra from €1,450 to €1,550, with the 1TB S26 Ultra going from €1,920 to €2,150; in the UK the 256GB S26 Ultra went from £1,280 to £1,360.

- GSMArena says the Galaxy S26 FE was not affected, and Samsung's US store still lists it at $699.99 for 8GB/128GB and $799.99 for 8GB/256GB.
- SamMobile attributes the increases to rising RAM and storage chip costs driven by heavy demand from AI companies such as AMD, Google and Nvidia, and notes that Samsung raised Galaxy S25 Edge, Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Galaxy Z Fold 7 prices in April citing memory chip constraints.
- GSMArena reported on 5 October 2026 that Samsung had raised US prices of the Galaxy A17 ($200 to $270), A27 ($350 to $380), A37 ($450 to $490) and A57 ($550 to $600), and on 3 October 2026 that Google's US store had moved the Pixel 10a from $499 to $599 without an official announcement.

Why it matters
Phone prices usually fall in the second half of a model's life, so a mid-cycle increase reverses the normal buying pattern: in India the base Galaxy S26 now costs more than Rs 1 lakh on Samsung's own store. With Samsung's A series, Google's Pixel 10a and Apple's iPhones also getting dearer in the same period, the memory-cost explanation reported by SamMobile points to industry-wide pressure rather than a one-off Samsung decision. In the US, GSMArena found Walmart and Amazon still selling the S26 series at or below launch prices, so retailer stock priced before the increase may be the cheaper route for now.
