The Alpha 7 V is the fifth generation of Sony’s full-frame hybrid E-mount camera, announced on 2 December 2025 and on sale from the end of that month. It combines a newly developed partially stacked Exmor RS CMOS sensor of approximately 33.0 effective megapixels with the BIONZ XR2 engine and its integrated AI processing unit, giving blackout-free bursts of up to 30 fps and up to 16 stops of dynamic range. Video is recorded at up to 4K 120p in 10-bit 4:2:2, and in-body stabilisation is rated at 7.5 stops at the centre of the frame. The magnesium alloy chassis has sealed seams and a sealed battery cover for dust and moisture resistance.
