Sony’s 2026 flagship, announced on 13 May 2026, carries a 6.5-inch FHD+ HDR OLED panel at 120 Hz and the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 platform. Its headline change is a much larger 1/1.56-inch telephoto sensor at 70 mm, joining 24 mm and 16 mm cameras that all read out at 48 MP effective, and a new AI Camera Assistant that proposes colour, exposure, bokeh and lens combinations. Sony keeps the enthusiast hardware intact: a dedicated shutter button, a 3.5 mm jack, microSD up to 2 TB, Qi wireless charging and a 5000 mAh battery. It is not sold in India; European pricing is EUR 1499 / GBP 1399 for the 256 GB model and EUR 1999 / GBP 1849 for the 1 TB Native Gold edition.
