Instead of the Realme 14 series, the Realme 15 series will launch: report

By Sundar Sethi – Published On: August 15, 2024

Highlights

  • Realme intends to omit the number 14 from its upcoming series of smartphones.

  • The rationale is that in China, the number 14 is auspicious.

  • Realme 15 will thus be the next number series.

The smartphones Realme 13 Pro and Realme 13 Pro+ were just released in India. There has also been confirmation of the Realme 13 5G India launch. The Realme 14 series will be the following lineup, and this is the company’s best-selling number series. 91mobiles Hindi, however, claims that Realme will forego the 14 series and go directly to the 15.

It's said that the Realme 14 series won't be seen.

  • As per a report, the Realme 14 series is expected to succeed the 13 series, however the brand intends to forego this number. This is because in China, the number “14” is associated with misfortune.
  • According to the report, a Realme executive with years of experience provided this information.
  • There will be a new camera design on the Realme 15 series. The circular camera design of the current series may change with the release of the Realme 15 lineup. With the new series, the brand apparently aims to completely revamp the look.
  • The Realme 13 Pro series comes with upgrades such as a bigger 5,200mAh battery and faster 80W charging support. Realme also upgraded the camera sensors on both phones and added AI features as well.

As the Realme 13 Pro and Pro+ were just released a few weeks ago, there is still time before the next lineup makes its debut. Since the Realme 12 Pro series was introduced in January of this year, the Realme 15 series may be released at the end of the current year or in the first part of the next. There isn’t any information available on the Realme 15 series save what was released.

The Realme 13 Pro+ is one of the two phones in the Realme 13 Pro series. The latest Realme phones have a 5,200mAh battery, a 32MP front camera, a Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 SoC, and 120Hz screens. In India, the base model of the Realme 13 Pro costs Rs 26,999, while the Realme 13 Pro+ starts at Rs 32,999.

New features such a larger 5,200mAh battery and faster 80W charging capabilities are included with the Realme 13 Pro series. Realme also added AI capabilities and improved the phones’ camera sensors.
